In TV2's new daily chat-show,
Doctor Tom Mulholland addressed the medical,
social and attitudinal issues that face New Zealanders
today. From
road rage to snoring; melanoma to separation and
divorce, Dr Tom tackled the issues that matter
to Kiwis with his own brand of no-nonsense, no-excuses
enthusiasm.
Dr Tom uses his own life
experiences to help improve the lives of his patients'. The
Taranaki based medical practitioner has a first-class
honours degree in molecular biology. Throughout
his career, he has worked in New Plymouth, the
Chatham Islands and as the doctor for the Taranaki
and Fijian rugby teams. An entrepreneur at
heart, he founded Doctor Global, a pioneering internet
medical company.
Dr Tom is a man who is familiar
with living life on the edge. His passions for surfing, flying
and snow-boarding have taken him on extraordinary
adventures. He's survived a tidal wave while
on a surf trip to a remote Indonesian coast; he's
been diving with sharks in Tahiti and been heli-boarding
in deepest Siberia - he is living proof that with
a healthy approach to life anything is possible.
"In the 15 years of being a doctor I found
the most powerful thing I can do is change peoples
attitudes," he says. "You can't change
your personality or genes but you can change your
attitude."
In Dr Tom: The Attitude Doctor,
Dr Tom discussed different issues with the help
of a special-guest who had first-hand experiences
in the topic at hand. The
experts on each topic offer valuable, often
life-saving advice. Tom will injected his
own opinions on how to deal with life's toughest
issues.
Doctor Tom wase put to the
test dealing with troublesome teens who are making
their parents' lives a living hell. In his
own unique style, Dr Tom will offered advice and
practical tips to parents both in the studio and
to the parents suffering similar problems at home.
The series included a discussion on
immunisation, which got to the heart of the
controversial debate with the help of guests and
a studio audience.
